Egypt turmoil: Thousands of inmates escape jails

Egypt faced greatest political violence of her past few years'. The violence or revolution is against President Hosni Mubarak. From a source it is said that thousands of inmates escaped prisons across Egypt on Sunday, including at least one jail that housed Muslim militants northwest of Cairo, adding to the chaos engulfing the country as anti-government protests continue to demand the ouster of longtime authoritarian President Hosni Mubarak. Security officials said the prisoners escaped overnight from four jails after starting fires and clashing with guards. The inmates were helped by gangs of armed men who attacked the prisons, firing at guards in gun battles that lasted hours. Looting and arson continued overnight as the police totally disappeared from the streets of the capital and several major Egyptian cities. There has been no explanation for why the police have vanished. Groups of youths also directed traffic in parts of Cairo, chasing away gangs of criminals smashing passing cars. Residents said gangs were also stopping people on the streets and robbing them.

The army appears to be reinforcing its presence on the streets of Cairo, but entire neighborhoods remained without any troops two days after Mubarak called the army out on the streets to restore order. The security officials said several inmates were killed and wounded during the escapes early Sunday, but gave no specific figures. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to share the information with the media. State Egyptian television, meanwhile, said authorities have decided to close down the Cairo offices of the Qatar-based Al-Jazzera television and suspend the accreditation of its reporters. The Egyptian TV did not give a reason for the move, but Egyptian authorities have often in the past charged that station's coverage of events in Egypt was sensational or biased against Mubarak's regime. Very tough time for Mubarak. Seems all is going against him!

Obama's State of the Union Speech: Obama reframes Economic Debate

Obama puts so much emphasis on economy as economy is driving force for a state. In his State of the Union speech he gives some unique ideas for economy and economists. It is an idea meant to serve as both a reminder of the enterprising spirit that has long propelled America through tough times as well as an optimistic assurance that the country is up to the enormous challenges it now faces.

The speech came at a critical juncture in his presidency. He has begun to recover from the depths of voter dissatisfaction he hit last fall, but he faces a newly empowered GOP determined to stop many of his initiatives as the 2012 campaign gets underway.

Of course, the president touched on other areas in the nearly hour-long speech before a crowd that included Daniel Hernandez, the intern who helped save the life of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, and the family of Christina Taylor Green, the 9-year-old who was killed in the Tucson shootings. Obama pledged to begin removing U.S. troops from Afghanistan by July, and to finish the job of bringing them home from Iraq. He promised a plan to consolidate and reorganize the federal government to make it more efficient. He also delivered another brief tribute to the victims and heroes of the rampage. As he did in Tucson, he turned that tragic experience into a jumping off point for a broader meditation on the need for a return to dialogue and a sense of common purpose in American politics. And he pointedly noted that Republicans, having been handed a greater role in governing by the American people in last November's election, now share the responsibility for resolving the country's problems. "New laws will only pass with support from Democrats and Republicans," he said. "We will move forward together, or not at all — for the challenges we face are bigger than party, and bigger than politics."

"We do big things." It was the closing theme of President Obama's State of the Union speech.
Now it is matter to watch how long this new theory of Obama will last??? Read More......

Taco Bell Defends of Mixing Beef Meat

Taco Bell strongly Defends of Mixing Beef Meat. This defends is actually for protecting their company goodwill. The officials of Taco Bell rejected claims made in a lawsuit that the meat in their tacos, burritos and other products is not all beef.

Greg Creed, Taco Bell President, said in a statement that the lawyers who filed the lawsuit got their facts wrong and that Taco Bell plans to take legal action against those making the allegations. He did not explain specifically what type of legal action Taco Bell might take. "At Taco Bell, we buy our beef from the same trusted brands you find in the supermarket," Creed said. "We start with 100 percent USDA-inspected beef. Then we simmer it in our proprietary blend of seasonings and spices to give our seasoned beef its signature Taco Bell taste and texture."

The class action lawsuit filed Friday in federal court in California by the Montgomery law firm Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles claims the Taco Bell meat mixture contains binders and fillers.

However, Creed also said Taco Bell is proud of the quality of its beef and identifies the seasoning and spice ingredients on its website. According to that Web site, ingredients used to season the Taco Bell meat include salt, chili pepper, onion powder, tomato powder, oats, soy lectithin, sugar, soybean oil, garlic powder, yeast extract, citric acid and cocoa powder.

Whatever, if Creed is honest to his argument and his defends remains honest then surely his company's goodwill must be remain good as it before!
